Climate-related targets
In order to achieve its carbon peaking and carbon neutrality targets, the Company has developed medium- and long-term emissions reduction targets based on corporate development plans and business performance. The Board of Directors and the Sustainability Committee regularly supervise the completion of related goals and indicators. Implementation results of the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality targets are linked to management performance, which are evaluated annually.
GHG reduction targets
In 2018, the Company formulated and released the Green Enterprise Campaign, and set the carbon reduction target: by 2023, carbon emissions will be reduced by 12.6 million tons cumulatively. From 2018 to 2023, the Company cumulatively reduced carbon emissions by 23.67 million tons, successfully achieving the reduction target.
In 2024, the Company formulated and released the second phase plan of the Green Enterprise Campaign, and set the following targets through 2028: Emission intensities of carbon and methane decrease by 5% and 20% respectively compared with 2023, capture and utilise 2.5 million tonnes carbon dioxide per year.
The Company's carbon reduction targets cover all of the Company’s Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.
