Covering an area of 4.047 square kilometers, Sinopec Jiujiang Company has excellent geographic location and convenient transportation, with Yangtze River flowing in the north, Lushan Mountain in the south and Poyang Lake in the east. Its predecessor is Jiujiang Refinery constructed in 1975, put into operation in October, 1980 and renamed as Jiujiang Petrochemical Complex later. In 2000, the Company was reorganized with core business incorporated to become Sinopec Jiujiang Company, a subsidiary of the listed Sinopec Corp.. At present, there are 2498 employees in the company with crude oil processing capacity of 5 million tons per year. Its production units are mainly Atmospheric and Vacuum Distillation, FCCU, CCR, PP, Delayed Coking, Gasoline and Diesel Hydrotreating, supporting utility and auxiliary facilities. The crude oil is transported to the company by pipelines along the Yangtze River, and then the products are delivered to the customers by pipelines and railway. 

During the past 30 years, Jiujiang Company has got various honorary titles such as National Environmental Protection Advanced Unit, National Green Advanced Unit, National May Day Labor Medal, National Outstanding Grassroot Party Organization, National Ideological and Political Work Advanced Unit, National Spiritual Civilization Construction Advanced Unit and so on. 

During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, Jiujiang Company will keep carrying forward the new enterprise spirit of Pursuit for Excellence, Strict Management and Fine Management, Do Practical and Solid Work, First-Class Performance, actively carry out Three-Step Route Map of Laying Foundation, Reaching Higher Level, Striving for First-class Performance, do a good job in safe production and optimization of operation, actively ensure oil product market supply, fully carry out 8 million tpa Oil Product Quality Upgrading Project and follow-up projects. The Company is determined to set up a management model with Jiujiang characteristics, focusing on the corporate culture of Pursuing Excellence, using IT to leverage efficiency, so as to become a first-class 10-million-ton refinery with an international advanced level. 

At present, the ground-breaking of 8-million-tons-per-year Oil Product Quality Upgrading Project has been made and the project is expected to be completed in September 2014. The test run 1.5 million tons per year Diesel Liquid Circulation Hydrogenation Unit has been successful, a first example of commercialization for such technology in China. The potential safety hazards prevention & control project for 1# FCCU has been accomplished smoothly and is awarded Excellent Engineering of Sinopec in 2011. The projects of 1.2 million tons per year CCR and oil-to-coal revamping are proceeding smoothly. 

Facing the new situation and in accordance with the overall planning of Sinopec, Jiujiang Company will be guided by the scientific outlook on development, persist in green and low carbon, scientific, effective and sustainable development of the company, making greater efforts to become a first-class 10-million-ton refinery with an international advanced level.
