Sinopec Marketing Company is a fully-owned subsidiary of China Petroleum & Chemical Corp. (Sinopec Corp.). The company was established based on the sales arm of former of China Petrochemical Company which was set up in 1985 and became an independent legal entity affiliated to former China Petrochemical Company in 1992. In 1998 Sinopec Marketing Company of Sinopec Group was launched in accordance with the State Council’s decision to restructure the 2 domestic state-owned oil giants. In 2002, the company’s listed arms were reformed to Sinopec Marketing Co., Ltd. which co-existed with Oil Products Marketing Dept. of Sinopec Corp. with the same working team. Sinopec Marketing Company’s dispatched agencies in Northern China, Eastern China, Central China and Southern China are responsible for unified purchase and settlement, allocation, distribution, transportation, coordination, information sharing and sales management of refined products rolled out from refineries of Sinopec Corp. while Oil Products Marketing Dept. of Sinopec Corp. is in charge of management of personnel, material and finance of the abovementioned 4 agencies, other oil product marketing subsidiaries at different levels and Sinopec HK Co., Ltd.

Sinopec Marketing Company’s business mainly covers sales of gasoline, kerosene, diesel, LPG, natural gas, lubricant oil and fuel oil; planning, designing and construction of oil/gas depots and service stations; investment, construction and maintenance of oil pipelines and related facilities; sales of snacks, articles of daily use; car wash service; consulting service, R&D of technology application and computer software and training related to operation; sales of cigarettes in branch agencies, etc.
