As of December 23, Sinopec’s shale gas field in Fuling, Chongqing – the first major commercial shale gas project in China – has produced over 80 billion cubic meters of gas cumulatively. Since late 2012, the Fuling shale gas field has continuously supplied green and clean energy to more than 70 cities across six provinces and two municipalities along the Yangtze River Economic Belt, benefiting over 200 million residents.

Currently, the daily output of the shale gas field maintains 23.5 million cubic meters on average and peaks at 25.8 million cubic meters, which can meet the daily gas consumption of around 47 million households.
