Sinopec Signs Procurement Agreements Worth 40.9 Billion USD at the 7th CIIE

On November 5, the opening ceremony of the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) and the Hongqiao International Economic Forum was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). As part of its consistent participation in the CIIE for seven years, Sinopec organized a dedicated event on November 4: the 7th CIIE Sinopec Forum and Signing Ceremony.Themed "Building Global Energy Partnerships," the forum brought together senior executives and renowned experts from the global energy sector to discuss energy transformation and cooperation. The discussions focused on fostering an open ecosystem for green and low-carbon development. Sinopec’s Chairman, MA Yongsheng, attended the event and delivered a keynote speech.

At the opening ceremony, President ZHAO Dong and Vice President LI Yonglin hosted the forum and the signing ceremony.

Chairman MA Yongsheng highlighted that the global energy supply and governance systems need significant restructuring. He noted that the energy and chemical industries are entering a new phase of transformation and high-quality development. Sinopec, committed to openness, cooperation, and mutual benefit, has built extensive partnerships with leading global energy companies, equipment manufacturers, high-tech enterprises, and financial institutions. These collaborations have driven mutual development and elevated industry standards in technology and management.

MA Yongsheng further emphasized Sinopec’s commitment to becoming a world-leading clean energy and chemical company. This includes strengthening partnerships to expand opportunities in oil and gas, deepening collaborations in green energy to accelerate low-carbon transitions and enhancing technological innovation to drive sustainable growth. Sinopec is dedicated to fostering harmony between humanity and nature, addressing climate challenges, and building a cleaner, more sustainable future.

During the signing ceremony, Sinopec entered into procurement agreements with 38 partners from 18 countries, covering 27 product categories across ten sectors, such as crude oil, chemicals, equipments, materials, and consumer goods. The total value of these agreements reached 40.9 billion USD.

Among the highlights, Sinopec signed a long-term LNG supply framework agreement with TotalEnergies. Under this agreement, TotalEnergies will supply approximately 2 million tons of LNG annually to Sinopec from 2028 for 15 years. 

Stéphane Michel, President of Gas, Renewables & Power at TotalEnergies, remarked: "China is the world's largest LNG importer, and we are honored to partner with Sinopec. We look forward to expanding our long-term LNG sales in Asia to meet the region's growing energy demands."

Since the first CIIE in 2018, Sinopec has cumulatively signed contracts worth over 285 billion USD during seven sessions of the CIIE.

Some representatives of the partners delivered keynote speeches on topics such as energy transformation, low-carbon development and open cooperation. Approximately 400 participants attended the forum, including representatives from leading domestic and international enterprises, signing partners, and media organizations.
