Senegal, located near the Sahara Desert, has a hot, dry climate and scarce water resources. Residents in the country's remote villages often struggle to access clean and safe water supplies. The rural well-drilling project implemented by CGCOC Group (jointly funded by Sinopec Star with its partners) covers 12 of the 14 regions of Senegal, which supplies water for more than 2 million local residents. It also ensures water supply for agriculture and animal husbandry, and creates more than 3,000 local jobs.
